Indonesian Dream. Introducing The KTO2 Bespoke Cantik Baby Collection, where we unveil Indonesian heritage with limited edition designs inspired by the vibrancy of traditional Ikat textiles from the beautiful island of Flores.
Cantik (pronounced Chan-Tik) in the language of Indonesia means beautiful. Ikat, which means to tie, is a woven and a weaving process done by hand.
For this unique collection, we have embarked on a rediscovery of Indonesian culture. A marriage of our KT02 signature croc-stamped leather crafted by our artisans in Bali with the richly patterned, handmade Ikat we discovered while exploring Flores, an unspoilt Indonesian island paradise.
Flores, at the gateway of the Komodo National Park – A Unesco World Heritage Site, is where the cooler Pacific Ocean greets the warmer waters of the Indian Ocean. For centuries, tribes lived here alone and villages could only be reached by traditional boats called Phinisis. Seemingly mythical and distant, Flores later staked its place on the map as a stop for Portuguese seafarers en route to the spice islands.
With Cantik Baby, we've created a collection that captures the essence of Flores. Available for a limited time and exclusive to KT02 Bespoke, each Ikat pattern and style will be distinctive in its look. A work of art that celebrates the modern and the traditional. Beautiful, indeed.
